About 11:P.M.

Hi jerk, (opps)(sweetheart,)

Pardon the wrong introduction but I feel in a stupid mood tonight + I don’t know what I’m doing.

I got your letter today. You must have had quite a time. You must have looked either older or foolish in order for them to give you drinks (you old soak) Tsk, tsk, what will people say. So you stepped out on poor little Jim while you were away, huh. I bet he wouldn’t like that too well except he knows he can’t say much himself and I guess he can trust you to be fairly good anyway.

It’s about quarter to twelve now so this will be very-very short.

I’ll let you tell me that joke when I get home Friday. I hope I get it cause I’ve been wondering what I would be about (ha).

I just took a shower + I’m only half dry. That’s because I’m in a hurry and I figured I could dry off writing to you. Smart, huh. I’ll probably catch a cold. Which reminds me that you said you were going to have an x-ray taken. That’s good. I hope it turns out O.K. I’m sure it will anyway but that cough gets me worried. Oh well, nothing to worry about yet so why talk, it wastes time valuable paper + time.

I really can’t – Oh yes, I played some more tennis today. I can at least hit the ball now (sometimes) but only the lord knows where it will go. More fun. You ought to come down + play with me. (Tennis, that is) Don’t get the wrong idea on that last parenthesis. That’s getting out of my line. Do you play tennis, by the way? If you do, I’ll let you teach me how to play.

Can’t think of much more and I think I’m running out of ink so I’ll close I guess. See you tonight. I love you kiddo, so be good, or if you can’t be tell me about it, maybe I can help you out. Anyway, I love you very much, honey, give x’s to jr.

Love Jim

P.S. Please forgive the short letter, can’t be helped.
