Dec. 17, 1947

Wed., to you.

Hi beautiful,

I got your letter yesterday, thanks, all I want now is two more of your glorious messages of encouragement and affection.

I got some good news today. My ranks came out. I got better than I expected 1 A, 3 B’s, and 3 B-’s. No C’s, so I’m still in the race for the Deans list. I can get one of the B’s to an A too, I think.

My tests are going to really hurt this time though if they are as hard as I expect them to be, especially Chem & Physics. Oh well, I won’t need to worry for two weeks after tomorrow anyway.

You wanted to know what I meant by that P.S., huh. If it’s the one about who I’m kidding [Letter 10] it will take a lot of explaining so I’ll tell you later if your interested.

Gee, I really should go to bed; its 11:35 now so if I don’t make this very very long please forgive me. As it is you may not get this till Sat. morning.

Tom, Nate and I have been studying our @//&%!! Chemistry since 6:30 and I’m still not sure of it. This place is getting harder all the time. I guess those ranks won’t last long.

As you said in your letter, I may be able to give you my picture in the next two weeks; that is, if I’m still with you enough so that I can’t help but give it to you. We’ll see.

I don’t know when I’ll be home Friday nite but not until 7:30 or eight anyway. I’ll call you when I get home to see what the scoop is. I don’t imagine we’ll be going to the Tel. dance either ‘cause Bill won’t try too hard anyway if I know him.

I wish I could think of something to say but I don’t can’t, not printable things anyway. Please excuse all the corrections and such stuff. I’m not very bright right now. (Am I ever?)

Well my Chem test is first thing tomorrow so I’ll say goodnite now and try to get my beauty sleep (7 hours minimum, you know.) So be Good (capital G) and I’ll see you Friday night, anyway, dance or no dance.

[Drawn musical notes] I’ll be down to get you in a taxi Dodge, honey

Better be ready ‘bout half past eight

P.S. I’ll never try for 75 letters to beat someone else’s record, so please don’t worry about it. One of mine is as good as 7 of anyone elses, anyway, isn’t it.
