Hi,

I can’t think of a more appropriate greeting right now so that will have to do.

I’m afraid this will be very short since it’s almost twelve o’clock and I haven’t even put my clean sheets on my bed yet, and I can’t very well sleep on the mattrass (spelling?) I wouldn’t write tonight except that I promised you that I would and besides I’m not too sleepy. (Wait till tomorrow morning). I hope you wrote me tonight because I need your letters to make life bearable, you know Ha. I’m getting so lazy now I can’t even pick up my pen I guess.

Can you think of anything to say. I’m speechless except to tell you that I love you very much and that I’m afraid I don’t seem to be getting bored with loving you but I’m getting more interested and falling deeper all the time. That’s the way it appears to me anyway, and I should know since it’s me I’m talking about. That may be a little mixed up but you’ll get the point I’m sure.

I wish I’d get more ambitious and study this semester because I think my ranks are going down, but I just don’t feel like studying and when I do feel like it there is always somebody bothering me or something. I’m beginning to think half the reason I come home is to get away from jokes all the time. The other half of the reason I’ll let you guess but it begins with Thelma.

I’ve really got to turn in. It will be 12:30 before I get to bed now and I have to be up at 7:00. So I’ll see you later and try and write a better letter to you. Kiss all your boyfriends for me if you see them (with your hand, that is) Be good darling, and I’ll see you Friday. I love you.

Nite,
Jim
